François-Frédéric Guy
François-Frédéric Guy's international career has seen him work with outstanding conductors such as Philippe Jordan, Kent Nagano, Daniel Harding, and Esa-Pekka Salonen and with many orchestras, including the Wiener Symphoniker, the Orchestre Symphonique de Montréal, the Orchestre Philharmonique de Radio France, the NHK Symphony Orchestra (Tokyo), and the Philharmonia (London). From 2014 to 2017, he was Artist in Residence at the Arsenal in Metz. From 2017 to 2020, he was ‘Artiste associé’ as both pianist and conductor with the Orchestre de Chambre de Paris. Since 2012, he has regularly conducted a number of ensembles from the piano, including the Liège Royal Philharmonic, Sinfonia Varsovia, the Orchestre National des Pays de Loire, the Orchestre National de Lorraine, and the Orchestre de Chambre de Paris, with which he made an acclaimed appearance at the Théâtre des Champs-Élysées in 2020 during the opening concert of its Beethoven year. He is due to give recitals at La Seine Musicale in Boulogne, at Wigmore Hall in London, at Kumho Art Hall in Seoul, and at the Vilnius Festival. Upcoming orchestral projects under Sakari Oramo, Jean-Claude Casadesus, Benjamin Lévy, and Jurien Hempel will take him to London, Lille, Cannes, Tokyo, Hamburg, and Paris ; he will appear as pianist and conductor with the Hong Kong Philharmonic Orchestra, the Orchestre de l’Opéra de Limoges, the Orchestre de Chambre de Paris, and Sinfonia Varsovia.

Daejin Kim
In 1985 Daejin Kim won the Robert Casadesus International Competition (Cleveland) ; he made his debut in New York the following year. Since then, he has performed in recital and with orchestras in the major cities of the United States, Europe, and Asia. In 2006 he was named Professor of the Year by the Music Association of Korea and he was recently decorated as Artist of the Year by the Korean Ministry of Culture. Daejin Kim has been a member of the jury of competitions such as the Ferruccio Busoni, Beethoven (Bonn), Rubinstein and Leeds. After working closely with the Suwon Philharmonic Orchestra as both soloist and conductor, he became its Music Director in 2008. Under his baton, the orchestra made a European tour in Munich, Vienna, Prague and the Merano Festival in 2012. His recordings on the Sony label include two Mozart piano concertos with the Polish National Radio Symphony Orchestra, which he conducted from the keyboard (Sony), and a live recording of the complete cycle of Sibelius Symphonies. Daejin Kim is currently Professor of Piano and Dean of the School of Music at the Korea National University of Arts.

Momo Kodama
Born in Osaka in Japan, Momo Kodama studied at the Conservatoire de Paris. She went on to further studies under Murray Perahia, András Schiff, Vera Gornostaeva, and Tatiana Nikolayeva. In 1991, she became the youngest laureate of the ARD International Music Competition in Munich. Momo Kodama has been invited to play with the Berliner Philharmoniker, the Boston Symphony Orchestra, the Bayerisches Staatsorchester, the NHK Symphony Orchestra, the NDR Elbphilharmonie Orchestra (Hamburg), and the Orchestre Philharmonique de Radio France, under Seiji Ozawa, Eliahu Inbal, Charles Dutoit, Kent Nagano, Roger Norrington, Lawrence Foster, and André Previn. This season sees her make her debuts with the Orchestre National de France and the Polish National Radio Symphony Orchestra (Katowice), at the Festival de Paques in Aix-en-Provence, and at the Resitalleri in Istanbul. Her repertoire ranges from the Classical period to contemporary works by Toshio Hosokawa and Jorg Widmann that have been dedicated to her. She regularly gives masterclasses, for example with the Orchestre de Chambre de Paris in the context of the Paris PlayDirect Academy. Her latest recording for ECM, released in spring 2021, is of concertos by Mozart and Toshio Hosokawa, with the Mito Chamber Orchestra, conducted by Seiji Ozawa.

Denis Kozhukhin

Denis Kozhukhin has quickly established a formidable reputation and has already appeared at many of the world’s most prestigious festivals and concert halls including the Verbier Festival, where he won the Prix d’Honneur in 2003, Progetto Martha Argerich in Lugano, Berliner Philharmonie, Kölner Philharmonie, Klavier-Festival Ruhr, Rheingau Music Festival, Jerusalem International Chamber Music Festival, Carnegie Hall, Leipzig Gewandhaus, Munich Herkulessaal, Rotterdam De Doelen, Amsterdam Concertgebouw, Auditorio Nacional Madrid, Accademia Nazionale di Santa Cecilia Milan, Théâtre du Châtelet and Auditorium du Louvre Paris.

In the 2015/16 season, Denis Kozhukhin performs with orchestras including the Orchestre National de France with Yamada, the Pittsburgh Symphony with Noseda, the Philharmonia with Weilerstein, the Radio-Sinfonieorchester Stuttgart des SWR with Shokhakimov, Brussels Philharmonic with Denève and the Netherlands Radio Philharmonic with Märkl.

The 2014/15 season included performances with the Chicago Symphony Orchestra, the Philadelphia Orchestra, the BBC Symphony Orchestra, the Mariinsky Orchestra, the Houston Symphony Orchestra, the Netherlands Radio Philharmonic and the Orquestra Sinfônica do Estado de São Paulo. Denis Kozhukhin also toured to China with the BBC Scottish Symphony Orchestra, and made his debut with the West Eastern Divan Orchestra and Barenboim at the Salzburg Festival and at the Teatro Colón in Buenos Aires.

As a recitalist, highlights of this season and beyond include returns to the Concertgebouw’s Master Pianists Series, Cologne Philharmonie, Wigmore Hall, Auditorium du Louvre in Paris and London’s International Piano Series, as well as debuts at the Lucerne Festival, Vienna Konzerthaus and the Boston Celebrity Series. Following the 2013 release of his debut recording with Onyx Classics of Prokofiev’s Piano Sonatas Nos 6, 7 and 8, Denis Kozhukhin released his recording of Haydn Sonatas in 2014.

Born in Nizhni Novgorod, Russia, into a family of musicians, Denis Kozhukhin began his piano studies at the age of four with his mother. As a boy, he attended the Balakirev School of Music where he studied under Natalia Fish. From 2000 to 2007, Kozhukhin was a pupil at the Reina Sofía School of Music in Madrid learning with Dimitri Bashkirov and Claudio Martinez-Mehner. Upon graduating, he received his diploma personally from the Queen of Spain and was named best student in his year and twice best chamber group with his own Cervantes Trio. After his studies in Madrid, Denis Kozhukhin was invited to study at the Piano Academy at Lake Como where he received tuition from amongst others Fou Ts’ong, Stanislav Yudenitch, Peter Frankl, Boris Berman, Charles Rosen and Andreas Staier. He completed his studies with Kirill Gerstein in Stuttgart. He has also been awarded 1st Prize at the Vendome Prize in Lisbon in 2009, and 3rd Prize at the Leeds International Piano Competition in 2006.

Denis Kozhukhin is a committed chamber musician and has worked with amongst others, Leonidas Kavakos, Renaud and Gautier Capuçon, Janine Jansen, Vadim Repin, Julian Rachlin, the Jerusalem Quartet, the Pavel Haas Quartet, Radovan Vlatkovic, Jörg Widmann and Alisa Weilerstein.

Jan Michiels
Jan Michiels studied with Abel Matthys at the Royal Conservatory of Brussels. From 1988 to 1993 he studied at the Hochschule der Künste in Berlin under the direction of Hans Leygraf - he was awarded an exceptional distinction for his interpretations of Bartók's Second concerto for piano and Ligeti's Etudes. He was Tenuto-laureate in 1988; in 1989 he won the international E. Durlet competition. In 1992 he was awarded the JeM/ Cera prize for musicians and in 1996 he was signed up as festival star of the Flanders Festival. He is also laureate of the 'Gouden Vleugels/KBC Muziekprijs' 2006.

Jan Michiels is currently active as piano professor at the Koninklijk Conservatorium Brussel, where he also led the class of contemporary music for eight years. He conducted masterclasses in London, Murcia, Hamburg, Oslo, Montepulciano, Szombathely (Bartokfestival). He is fellow in the 'Platform' (VUB-KCB/The Brussels Model) and prepares a doctorate in the arts with the 'New Prometheus' of Luigi Nono as a guide.

He regularly performs as a soloist or with chamber music ensembles (a.o. the Piano Quartet Tetra Lyre and a piano duo with Inge Spinette) in several musical centres in Europe and Asia, with conductors such as Angus, Asbury, Baudo, Boreycko, Edwards, Eötvös, Meylemans, Nézet-Séguin, Ono, Pfaff, Rahbari, Rundel, Soustrot, Stern, Tabachnik, Tamayo, Zagrosek, Zender - but also with dance-productions of Anna Teresa De Keersmaeker, Vincent Dunoyer and Sen Hea Ha. His repertoire reaches from Bach to contemporary works.

Apart from his many radio recordings, he also recorded cd's with works by a.o. Bach, Bartók, Beethoven, Brahms, Busoni, Debussy, Dvorák, Janácek, Liszt, Rachmaninov, Ligeti, Kurtág and Goeyvaerts. The cd Via Crucis - a Liszt-portrait (Eufoda) - received a Caeciliaprize in 2002. He realized different complete cycles: the Beethoven sonatas, the piano works of Schoenberg, Webern and Berg and the complete chamber music with piano of Johannes Brahms.

Laura Mikkola
Finland, °1974
Finnish pianist, Laura Mikkola, 1974, has studied at the Sibelius Academy of Helsinki, the Curtis Institute of Music in Philadelphia and the University-School of Music in Bloomington, Indiana, United States, with Murray Perahia, Menahem Pressler, Gary Graffman, Dmitri Baskirov, Tapani Valsta and Ferenc Rados.

She has been the recipient of many awards, including second prize in the Queen Elisabeth Competition, and with the prize of the public, 1995; first prize in the International Unisa Transnet Piano Competition in Pretoria, Republic of South Africa, 1994; first prize in the Maj Lind Competition in Helsinki, 1992; and first prize in the International M. Ravel Piano Competition in France, 1988. She was awarded the Finland prize for Young Artist, 1995.

She has been a soloist with Helsinki Philharmonic, Radio Symphony Orchestra of Helsinki, Los Angeles Philharmonic, Mariinsky Theater Orchestra of St. Petersbourg, The Residentie Orkest, Stuttgart Staatsoper Orchestra, St John’s Smith Square Orchestra, London, Royal Philharmonic of Flanders, L’orchestre Philharmonique de Liège, Orchestre National de Belgique, Prague Chamber Orchestra, Virtuosi di Kuhmo, Essen Philharmonic Orchestra, Czech Philharmonic, Nagoya Philharmonic Orchestra, Egyptian Philharmonic Chamber Orchestra etc.

She has had recitals all over Europe, Japan, United States, in China and in South America, in Columbia and Chile. She has also performed in the Festival International de Colmar, France; 14th Festival de Música de Canarias, Spain; the Helsinki Festival, Kuhmo Chamber Music Festival, Savonlinna Opera Festival, Finland; Festival Glories of the Keyboards in Manchester, Great Britain; Yokohama International Piano Concert Festival, Japan; Sommerliche Musiktage Hitzacker, Germany; Lutoslawski Festival, Warsaw, Poland; Oslo, Kammermusikfestival, Metropolitan Museum of Art, New York, United States; Tonhalle, Zürich, Switzerland; Château de Bourlingster, Luxembourg, Châtelet Paris, France, Rudolfinum Prague, Czech Republic, Zipper Hall, Los Angeles, Filharmonia Narodowa, Warsaw, Poland and many others.

Laura Mikkola has been chosen to perform with conductors such as Jukka-Pekka Saraste, Leif Segerstam, Sergiu Comissiona, Osmo Vänskä, Valery Gergijev, Jean-Jacques Kantorow, Pierre Bartholomée, Aleksandr Lazarev, Mikko Franck, Okko Kamu, Peter Csaba, Eri Klas, Vladimir Ashkenazy, Ahmed El-Saedi, Hannu Lintu, John Storgards and others worldwide.

Her Suntory Hall debut, Tokyo, was in 1995, Carnegie Hall debut (Weill Recital Hall, New York) was in 1996, her Hollywood Bowl debut with Maestro Esa-Pekka Salonen and the Los Angeles Philharmonic in 1997, Kennedy Center debut with the Washington National Symphony Orchestra in 2002 (Washington D.C) and her debut with Radio Sinfonie Orchester Frankfurt in 2005.

Laura Mikkola has 49 concertos in her repertoire including Bartok No. 2, Prokofjev No. 2, von Sauer No. 2, Lindberg piano concerto, Rachmaninov No. 3, Beethoven: Triple Concerto. She also plays chamber music with Maestro Philippe Entremont, Juha Uusitalo etc.. She performs regularly in China and Japan.

Since 2003 she has been the artistic director of Iitti Music Festival (Finland).

Steven Osborne
Born in Scotland, Steven Osborne studied under Richard Beauchamp at St Mary’s Music School in Edinburgh and under Renna Kellaway at the Royal Northern College of Music in Manchester. He won First Prize at the prestigious Clara Haskil competition in 1991 and at the Naumburg International Competition in 1997. In concert, Steven Osborne has performed with the world’s greatest orchestras; recent collaborations have included the Deutsches Symphonie-Orchester Berlin, the Vienna Radio Symphony Orchestra, the Oslo Philharmonic, the Danish National Symphony Orchestra, the London Symphony Orchestra, the Royal Stockholm Philharmonic, the Yomiuri Nippon Symphony, the Australian Chamber Orchestra, and the St Louis Symphony. He has been an artist in residence at Wigmore Hall in London, deSingel in Antwerp, and the Bath International Music Festival, with the City of Birmingham Symphony Orchestra, and, this season, with the Royal Scottish National Orchestra. Recording on the Hyperion label since 1998, he has made 29 recordings, which have won numerous awards and distinctions, including the Gramophone Award (twice), the Preis der Deutschen Schallplattenkritik (three times), and a ‘Choc’ from Classica. Steven Osborne is a Visiting Professor at the Royal Academy of Music and is Patron of the Lammermuir Festival. He was elected a Fellow of the Royal Society of Edinburgh in March 2014.

Anne Queffélec
After finishing her studies at the Paris Conservatoire, Anne Queffélec went on to study in Vienna with Paul Badura-Skoda, Jörg Demus, and Alfred Brendel. Her successes in the Munich (1968) and Leeds (1969) international competitions paved the way for a remarkable international career as a soloist. Acclaimed in Europe, Japan, Hong Kong, Canada, and the United States, she has had the opportunity to perform with great conductors and with prestigious orchestras such as the London Symphony, the London Philharmonic, the Philharmonia Orchestra, the BBC Symphony, the Academy of St. Martin in the Fields, the Tonhalle Zurich, the Polish Chamber Orchestra, the Lausanne Chamber Orchestra, the Orchestre National de France, the Hong Kong Philharmonic, the Kanazawa Ensemble, the Tokyo NHK Symphony Orchestra, and the orchestras of Radio France and Prague. She is a regular guest at renowned festivals worldwide and in France. At La Roque d’Anthéron she performed Mozart’s complete sonatas, broadcast live on France Musique. Under the baton of Sir Neville Mariner she has recorded music for the movie Amadeus. On stage as well as in the recording studio, Anne Queffélec cultivates an eclectic repertoire, ranging from Handel to Dutilleux. Jean-Claude Vanden Eynden

Jean-Claude Vanden Eynden was only 16 years of age when he was proclaimed a laureate of the Queen Elisabeth Competition in 1964. That sought-after distinction launched a brilliant career that has taken him to the world’s leading concert halls and the most prestigious festivals, including the Korsholm (Finland), Umea (Sweden), Prades, la Chaise-Dieu, and Giverny (France), Delft (the Netherlands), Seoul (Korea), and Stavelot and Seneffe (Belgium) festivals. In chamber music, he has played with outstanding Belgian and international partners such as Véronique Bogaerts, Marie Hallynck, Augustin Dumay, Silvia Marcovici, Mihaela Martin, Miriam Fried, Gérard Caussé, Frans Helmerson, José Van Dam, Walter Boeykens, the Enesco Quartet, the Melos Quartet, the Quatuor Ysaÿe, and the Ensemble César Franck. His formidably extensive repertoire includes almost all the great concertos, a wide array of chamber music pieces, and the complete works for solo piano of Maurice Ravel. Jean-Claude Vanden Eynden was knighted by King Philippe in 2018.

Anna Vinnitskaya had her first piano lessons from her mother at the age of six and gave her first concert with an orchestra when she was eight. After studying at the Conservatory of Rostov-on-Don, where she was taught by Sergey Osipenko, she went on to further studies, under Evgeni Koroliov, at the Hochschule für Musik und Theater in Hamburg, where she herself became a piano professor in 2009. Anna Vinnitskaya's First Prize at the Queen Elisabeth Competition in 2007 launched her international career. She regularly performs as a soloist with leading orchestras such as the Berliner Philharmoniker, the Bamberger Symphoniker, the NHK Symphony Orchestra, the Royal Philharmonic Orchestra, the Orchestre d’Ile de France, the Orchestre de la Suisse Romande, the Deutsche Kammerphilharmonie Bremen, the NDR, SWR, and Berlin radio orchestras, the Münchner Philharmoniker, and the Konzerthausorchester Berlin, under conductors such as Marek Janowski, Krzysztof Urbañski, Kirill Petrenko, Andris Nelsons, Alan Gilbert en Mirga Gražinytë-Tyla. She has recorded three discs on the Naïve label, which have won two Diapasons d’Or, an ECHO Klassik prize, and a ‘Choc du Mois’ from Classica magazine. In 2015, she moved to Alpha Classics and recorded the Shostakovich concertos with Kremerata Baltica and the wind players of the Staatskapelle Dresden. This season she has been artist in residence at the Dresdner Philharmonie.

Boyan Vodenitcharov
Bulgaria (Republic), °1960
Born in 1960, Boyan Vodenitcharov entered the Conservatory in Sofia in 1979, having already been a prizewinner at the Senigallia international competition. He went on to come third in the Busoni Competition in 1981 and in the 1983 Queen Elisabeth Competition. He undertook further studies with Leon Fleischer at the Peabody Conservatory in Baltimore in 1986 and 1987. He gives concerts throughout Europe, the United States, Canada, and Japan, performing at prestigious concert halls such as the Centre for Fine Arts in Brussels, the Concertgebouw in Amsterdam, the Palais de la Musique in Strasbourg, the Smetana Hall in Prague, and the Suntory Hall in Tokyo. For 20 years now, he has also taken an interest in period instruments, on which he has recorded a number of CDs. In addition to his activities as a performer, Boyan Vodenitcharov also works in the fields of composition and improvisation. A number of his works have been performed in France, Germany, Belgium, and Bulgaria. He currently teaches the piano, the fortepiano, and improvisation at the Brussels Royal Conservatory.
