Victor Julien-Laferrière, soloist
Each year, the Queen Elisabeth Competition invites young people to discover the magic of classical music through a series of concerts in Brussels, Leuven and Louvain-la-Neuve. During these recitals, laureates of the Competition share their passion, tell the story behind the works they perform, and offer the audience a unique musical experience. For many young listeners, these concerts are their very first encounter with the world of classical music. For the next series of young people’s concerts in March 2026, we have invited cellist
Victor Julien-Laferrière, the First Prizewinner of our very first competition dedicated to the cello in 2017. On the occasion of the 150th anniversary of the birth of Pablo Casals, he will present a program dedicated to this illustrious cellist and composer. He will be accompanied by pianist Théo Fouchenneret.
To enable us to continue this project, we ask for a contribution of €12 per person aged 26 and above, and €5 for young people aged 13 to 25. Tickets remain free of charge for children under 13.
Both free and paying tickets are available at the Flagey box office, by phone at +32 2 641 10 20 or online at www.flagey.be (reservation fee: €1/ticket).
